An oasis of friendship and discovery await our youngest residents at Donald Eismann Elementary School, located in the Sumner School District which is rated in the top 20 of the Washington school districts from SchoolDigger.com. Our fifth graders have the highest science scores in the Sumner School District and were awarded the Washington Achievement Award in 2015. Every classroom is wired with state-of-the-art tech boards for an optimum learning experience.
Donald Eismann Elementary has a 10 out of 10 rating on GreatSchools.org. Students are empowered to become leaders of the 21st century through our innovative classes, and individualized attention, while the surrounding forest provides a setting for experimentation and exploration. They can also model the work of professional researchers for our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Fair, while parents get involved in the active PTA. It's no surprise Donald Eismann Elementary took home the South Sound Magazine "Best Elementary School" win for its dedicated staff, teachers and specialists in music, technology, and physical education. After-school activities include art club, drama club, and Bricks 4 Kidz, in which students build professionally designed amusement parks and skyscrapers out of LEGOs.
Six additional schools (serving kindergarten through 12th grade) have been approved for the community including the new Sumner School District elementary school opening in Tehaleh in 2018! Following in the footsteps of Donald Eismann Elementary, this school is being designed and built with STEM education in mind. The state-of-the-art classrooms and indoor/outdoor spaces for hands-on learning, promise innovative learning experiences for its students.
Additionally, the stellar Mountain View Middle School and Bonney Lake High School are conveniently just a few miles north of the Tehaleh community.
“We’d toured this beautiful community, and then we took one look at the amazing school, the facilities, the quality of teachers and programs, and just knew we had to live here." —Tiffany S.
