Schools

BONNEY LAKE HIGH SCHOOL

Bonney Lake High School first opened for classes in 2005 and is the home of the Panthers. The school helps prepare students to be successful in high school and in their future lives. The school’s core values help guide the way with Panther POWER Values for Success:

  • Perseverance: Persistence in action even when faced with discouragement and obstacles to accomplish your purpose. Never give up - Keep going!
  • Ownership: Our choices! Our school! Our future! Being accountable for my/our actions and the results they bring at all times.
  • Work Ethic: Sustained internal drive to perform at your personal best. Just get it done! Going beyond basic requirements to reach the highest quality possible.
  • Engagement: Be here! All in! Have fun! Complete involvement, commitment, and immersion with the task at hand. Brain on!
  • Respect: To see value, worth and appreciation in self and others even if ideas and beliefs are different. Treat people the way you want to be treated and show regard for the property of others.

The key to connection: participation

Bonney Lake offers many possibilities for students to explore their interests and make new friends. Male athletes can choose from football, golf, tennis, basketball, swimming & diving, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, track, and soccer while female athletes can pick from golf, soccer, swimming & diving, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, fast pitch, lacrosse, tennis, and track. After school, students can participate in a variety of organizations including art club, KEY club, band, book club, cheerleading, choir, business and marketing group DECA, family and community service club FCCLA, diversity club, gaming club, National Honor Society, Gay-Straight Alliance, International Club, KEY Club, Leo community service club, robotics, winterguard, drama that will be hosting performance in the new Performing Arts Center, yearbook, Future Health Professionals group HOSA, and culinary arts. The school also hosts Special Olympics teams for basketball, bowling, soccer, and track & field.

Meet the Principal: Chris Turner

Chris Turner knows that to make Bonney Lake High School a success, he must build strong partnerships with students and their parents. He sees his job as a guide for the staff and to help them support every student to earn a diploma to become career and college ready.

He’s been an educator for 21 years, serving for the past three years as principal at BLHS. Outside of school, Mr. Turner loves the Seahawks and enjoys spending time fishing. As a father of teens aged 14, 16, and 18, Mr. Turner only wants the best for his kids, just like the parents of the students at his school. This realization helps guide his decision-making process every day.

Tehaleh Resident #HumansofTehaleh

We came to Tehaleh three or four times and fell more in love with it every time. We've lived here for about two months now and we enjoy taking our children to Big Sky Park—they love the zip line!
