The Gordon Family YMCA Offers Another Way for Residents to Stay Fit.
Tired of paying those hidden fees to workout? For Tehaleh residents, they don’t have to worry about it at the Gordon Family YMCA. One of the largest YMCAs in the state, this fitness hub in Sumner waives the joining fee for all Tehaleh residents. Working out in this 110,000-square-foot facility has never been easier.
From boot camp and cycling to water walking and Tai Chi, the Y offers a variety of activities to keep the entire family busy. There’s dance as well as arts and crafts classes, rock climbing and a teen area tailor-made to their interests. The little tyke area includes a play structure perfect for those rainy days.
The Gordon Family YMCA pool is a marvel. There are plenty of lap lanes for those looking to burn calories, while the lazy river is great for those looking to take things a little slower. The children’s splash park is great for beginners and the zero-entry makes getting in a breeze.
The Y is founded on healthy living. Their programs, services and initiatives empower families to be healthier in spirit, mind and body while having fun together. A few ways the Y is making good on this promise is through SilverSneakers® and their partnership with MultiCare. Seniors will enjoy SilverSneakers® Fitness Program, and innovative health, and exercise wellness program helping older adults live healthy, active lifestyles. For families needing a little extra TLC, MultiCare has opened a clinic at the Gordon Family YMCA, where they provide physical and massage therapy services.
The Y also offers programs for the kids from swimming to soccer and other sports camps. During the summers, kids can enjoy day camp or sleepaway camp for exciting adventures.
