Three Generations Under One Roof in Tehaleh

“Growing up, I had posters of forests hanging on my walls. When I’m out on the Tehaleh trails now, I just laugh at how wonderful my life has turned out,” said resident Willow Flint. “We found the ideal home for our family here in Tehaleh – that includes three generations, all under one roof!”

From homes designed with main-floor living in mind to large open floor plans, and a wide range of award-winning amenities, it’s no surprise that multigenerational families have chosen to live together – or in close proximity to each other – in Tehaleh, the best-selling community of new single-family homes in Washington. A Pew Research Center study shows they aren’t alone. A record 20 percent of the U.S. population live in a household with multiple generations.

Two years ago, Willow and her husband were shopping for their forever home in Tehaleh. “We knew my mother was moving in with us, so it was essential to find a home to accommodate all of us.”

“When we found our home, we were attracted to the main-floor living layout, with a large primary bedroom on one side and a separate bed and bath on the other,” said Willow. Recently, her grandson moved in – bringing a boost of excitement into their days. He attends the highly-ranked Bonney Lake High School and socializes with neighbors while out walking the family dog. At night, he loves playing video games in his upstairs bedroom.

The family congregates in the kitchen and living room while also enjoying all the community offers – 30+ miles of trails, 13 parks, and stunning views. “My mom loves gazing at Mount Rainier, right outside the window – and we all admire the greenery surrounding us and appreciate getting outdoors.” said Willow.

Like Willow, resident Bob Brown moved to Tehaleh along with family – his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter live within a mile of Bob and his wife, who chose a home in the 55+ active adult community, Trilogy® at Tehaleh®. Trilogy was recently awarded “Community of the Year” by The New Home Council, and Bob knew from his first visit that he wanted to be part of the close-knit community.

Bob joins his neighbors on daily hikes through the scenic trails, spotting wildlife, and enjoying a close connection to nature. He also volunteers in his granddaughter’s class at Donald Eismann Elementary, the award-winning public school in the heart of the community.

For residents living in Trilogy, a balanced life is easy to achieve. Described as a “playground for grown-ups,” Trilogy buyers enjoy access to the members-only active adult club, Seven Summits Lodge. Residents can attend fitness classes, swim laps in the pool, unwind with a game of virtual golf, and savor a tasty meal from The Mantel, the private restaurant inside the lodge.
