Where curious students are nurtured by outstanding teachers, Donald Eismann Elementary is rated in the top 12 percent among all school districts statewide and has an 8 out of 10 rating on GreatSchools.org. Students are empowered to become leaders of the 21st century through our innovative classes and individualized attention, while the surrounding forest provides a refreshing close-to-home laboratory.
The curriculum also allows students to model the work of professional researchers for our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Fair. At DEE, each student is immersed in an environment of high standards, where challenging academics also foster personal creativity. In 2016 they were awarded the Washington Achievement Award for High Progress, an achievement among the top 10 percent of schools making the most progress in reading, or English language arts and math combined! Every classroom is wired with state-of-the-art tech boards for an optimum learning experience, while our Sumner School District is rated in the top 12 percent among all school districts statewide by SchoolDigger.com.
So it’s no surprise Donald Eismann Elementary took home the South Sound Magazine "Best Elementary School" win for its dedicated staff, teachers, and specialists. After-school activities include art and engineering programs.
We’ve called Tehaleh home for four years and we feel honored to see the community grow. It seems like every year, the number of kids in the neighborhood doubles!
“My favorite part of school at Donald Eismann [Elementary] is my teacher, Mr. Browning." Ethan, 11. "My favorite part [of school] is lunch!" Boedy, 8.
We came to Tehaleh three or four times and fell more in love with it every time. We've lived here for about two months now and we enjoy taking our children to Big Sky Park—they love the zip line!
