Trilogy® by Shea Homes brings boutique chic to Tehaleh

Shea Homes has planted new roots in Tehaleh’s Glacier Pointe neighborhood, carrying nearly 150 years of craftsmanship, community, and care. The company began in 1881 as a small plumbing business in Portland, OR and that sense of service still defines it to this day.

“I always joke that we’re older than Coca-Cola,” says BreAnn Colvin, Area Sales Manager at Shea Homes. “It hits on something buyers really care about, especially in 55-plus communities. They want to know who they’re trusting with such an important purchase. We’re family owned. It’s about having happy homeowners and happy employees.”

A Legacy of Living Well

Now, with Verterra® in Glacier Pointe, Shea Homes is refining its Trilogy® brand even further. “It’s our first ever Trilogy® Boutique Community in the country,” BreAnn explains. “It’s the same Trilogy® brand, same hospitality, and same resort-style living, just in a more intimate, exclusive footprint.”

Verterra, once completed, will feature 483 home sites, offering all the lifestyle perks of a larger Trilogy community, but with a stronger sense of closeness. “People told us they associate the word ‘boutique’ with charm, warmth, and connection,” she says. “That’s exactly what we wanted…a place where you know your neighbors and feel like a big fish in a smaller pond.”

That philosophy inspired Trilogy® at Tehaleh’s club, Seven Summit Lodge, a hospitality-driven hub that feels more like a local hotel than a traditional clubhouse. Staffed by Blue Star Golf & Resort professionals, it delivers the polish of a destination getaway every day. “We want people to walk in and feel like they’re on vacation,” she says. “Except this time, they live there.”

Design Rooted in the Pacific Northwest

Step inside a Shea home and the difference is clear. Large windows bring in the natural light, covered patios extend the seasons, and interiors glow with warm, natural tones. “We live in a place with so much gray outside,” BreAnn says. “Our buyers want warmth and inviting spaces that feel like an escape.”

Each home’s layout is shaped around connection. Open kitchens, easy indoor-outdoor flow, and spaces that balance social and private moments reflect how people truly live. Even in our popular, duplex-style Resort Collection, privacy and quiet remain priorities. “We built two side-by-side homes and hosted 30 people in one, just to prove how quiet it was,” BreAnn says, “They’re attached, but they live like single-family homes.”

Behind the scenes, Shea partners with Trio Design Studio, which curates interiors for both the model homes and the future club at Verterra. Buyers can personalize their homes through themed design collections or choose every finish individually. “We’re not a custom homebuilder,” BreAnn explains, “but we do believe in choice. You can add everything you want or keep it simple. Some people spend $200,000 in upgrades, others none. It’s about having access to both.”

Dream to Doorstep

Buying with Shea Homes is designed to feel personal from the very first visit. The new sales center is a reimagined home turned into what BreAnn calls “a home to retail experience.” It feels more like a coffee shop than a sales office. “It’s unlike anything I’ve seen in homebuilding,” she says. “We host events, we serve espresso, and we bake cookies fresh every day.”

Located across from the future Verterra Club, Open, the space sets the tone for the Shea experience. Buyers meet with consultants who guide them through home plans, selections, and design options with ease. The process is built around clarity and comfort.

“Our standards are already high,” BreAnn notes, “but it’s nice that people don’t have to buy luxury upgrades to get a beautiful home. We make sure someone can live here comfortably no matter their budget.”

A Lifestyle Within a Lifestyle

Verterra– a Trilogy Boutique Community, is is a resort within a master-planned community, offering private amenities alongside everything Tehaleh already provides. Homeowners get both exclusivity and access. There are personal spaces combined with the whole area’s shared trails, parks, and events that make the community so vibrant.

“Honestly, I think our members love the trails most,” BreAnn says. “There are about 50 miles of them, plus the parks, the off-leash dog park, and spaces for all ages. You get all that and your own little haven if you want to get away from it.”

At the heart of that haven is the planned amenity Open a Trilogy Wellness + Social Club, a centerpiece of the Shea experience. It is planned to feature pickleball courts, a lap and lounge pool, state-of-the-art fitness facilities focused on wellness and recovery, and a bar and restaurant that feel like a boutique hotel lounge.

“I always tell people, when you’re sitting by the pool on a Tuesday with a Mai Tai that a server brought you…that’s your life now,” BreAnn says. “That’s what we build. Not just homes, but lifestyles.”

While the club will be exclusive to Verterra residents, Trilogy members nationwide can enjoy out-of-state reciprocal access at all Trilogy by Shea Homes communities. “You can visit any Trilogy in the country,” BreAnn explains. “You can golf in Orlando or go to the spa in Arizona. It’s all connected.”

Views, Warmth, and a Sense of Belonging

When asked about her favorite view in Tehaleh, BreAnn doesn’t hesitate. “Up in Verterra, it’s unreal,” she says. “People literally stop their cars just to take selfies.”

While Verterra is reserved for 55 and over residents, the sales office welcomes everyone. “We have plenty of people in their 30s and 40s coming in,” BreAnn says. “Everyone has parents or knows someone who’s 55 and over, or they’re just curious. We love that.”

The Next Chapter in Tehaleh Living

Verterra represents both a continuation and an evolution of its legacy. From its 19th-century beginnings in Portland to its 21st-century boutique lifestyle communities, the company has always built with a purpose: to create homes that feel good to live in.

For BreAnn, that is what matters most:

“We’re not just building homes,” she says. “We’re building places where people can live well, connect deeply, and feel proud of where they are.”
