Tehaleh Parktivity Passport: Your Guide to Exploring Every Corner of the Neighborwoods
If you’re a fan of collecting stickers, visiting fun and unique parks, and casually perusing an incredible community while you do it, then you are absolutely destined for a good time with the Tehaleh Parktivity Passport.
Tehaleh has already become quietly famous for its coined term, park hopping, and now there’s an even more interactive way to experience it. With the Parktivity Passport, every stop feels a little more official, a little more adventurous, and a lot more fun. The fine folks at the Tehaleh Welcome Center will be more than happy to help you get started and point you in the right direction.

This is not your average outing. It is part scavenger hunt, part park adventure, part neighborhood exploration, and an all-around great excuse to get outside. The idea is simple: Pick up a passport at the Tehaleh Welcome Center, visit some or all of Tehaleh’s 17 parks, answer the trivia questions on the back, and see just how much of the community you can discover along the way. Every correct trivia question will earn you a unique park sticker to take home! By the time you’re finished-- and collected all 17 stickers-- you’ll have seen more of Tehaleh than most people ever do, and you’ll definitely have a few favorite spots you’ll want to come back to again and again.
Like everything in life, there will be hares and tortoises. Some people will want to see how fast they can complete the passport, maybe even imagining themselves setting an informal Neighborwood record. Others will gladly take their time, wandering from park to park, taking in the trees, trails, playgrounds, skies, sounds, and seasonal changes as they go. Both approaches are valid. Both sound like a good time.
The real question is: what kind of Parktivity adventurer are you?
For the fast folks
You might be in this for the challenge. Maybe you love missions. Or you looked at the list of parks and immediately thought, I can do that in one, heroic day.
If you’re planning to move quickly, make a day of it. Bring water. Bring snacks. Maybe bring a little competitive spirit, too. Just remember the trail etiquette: wheels yield to runners; runners yield to pedestrians. Everybody gets to have a good time out there.
And yes, before anyone says it: the tortoise did, in fact, beat the hare.
For the nature hikers
Now, maybe you are not trying to break records. Maybe your ideal version of this is one park per outing. A slow Saturday walk. A bike ride after dinner. A weekend adventure that turns into a season-long tradition.
That works beautifully, too.
The Parktivity Passport is a great way to add a little purpose to your time outdoors without rushing through any of it. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, sitters, and all of you who are looking for a fresh activity to do with the kids: this can be an amazing way to get everybody out of the house and into the fresh air. It is the kind of outing that can be as simple or as ambitious as you want it to be.
Pack some trail snacks. Bring lunch. Toss in an extra water bottle and maybe a backup sweatshirt. Let the kids lead part of the way. Let someone be the Parktivity Navigator. Suddenly, an ordinary afternoon becomes an expedition.
And once you finish? You may want to start all over again.
Because one of the best parts of exploring Tehaleh this way is noticing how much the area changes over time. The colors shift. The plants change. Wildlife appears in different ways throughout the year. A park you visited in spring might feel entirely different in late summer or fall. What starts as a checklist turns into a new way of seeing the place around you.
A few clues for your Parktivity adventure
Keep a close eye on each park as you go. Each one has its own personality, and part of the fun is discovering what makes every stop memorable. Here are a few hints about what the Parktivity Passport will lead you toward:
- Forest Park Look up. Seriously. How tall do you think those trees are?
- Sprouts Holler Go for a slide… or two… or several more for research purposes.
- The Edge Do an ollie, 50-50, kickflip, heelflip, tailslide, or boardslide. Or simply admire the graffiti walls and the energy of the space.
- Yonder Park Water you up to?
- Boulder Dash Boulders are meant to be climbed. That is all.
- Knoll Park See if you can add to your critter count while you explore.
- Ponder Park Pro tip: this isa great place to stop for a picnic.
- Sticks 'N' Stones Can you climb ’em all? There’s only one way to find out.
- Big Sky Park There’s something a little oddly prehistoric about this one, in the best possible way.
- Hounds Hollow If you’ve got a dog, prepare them to think they’ve reached paradise.
- Expedition Grove Let your curiosity lead you toward the trail.
- Hawks Landing Are those hawks in the trees? Keep watching.
- Discovery Park Track your miles or kilometers and see just how far your adventure takes you.
- Reflection Park Fitness can, in fact, be fun.
- Infinity Park As the limit of x approaches infinity, how much adventure does this park contain? Mathematicians and playground enthusiasts alike may never know.
- The Trek Fill those MTB tires and get ready.
- Skyline Park Find your favorite swing set and claim your title.

The important question: can you beat a banana slug?
Every grand challenge deserves a benchmark, and this one has a very good one.
Can you complete the parks faster than a banana slug?
A banana slug, pedal to the metal, can travel about 6.5 inches per minute. For comparison, the average human walks at around 3 miles per hour, and that estimate does not account for snack breaks, scenic detours, park play sessions, or the very understandable urge to stop for photo ops.
It also does not account for the deeply compelling experience of pausing to observe a banana slug moving 6.5 inches in a minute and somehow making it look like a major accomplishment.
So yes, technically, you can probably beat a banana slug.
But should you rush past the chance to appreciate one? Absolutely not.
Bonus points for critter spotting
As you visit each park, keep an eye out for the wildlife around you. Birds, insects, squirrels, maybe the occasional surprise visitor...every park has its own little ecosystem, and paying attention to it can make each visit even more rewarding. Kids especially tend to love this part, but honestly, adults get into it pretty quickly too.
You might even turn it into a running family tally:
- How many birds did you see?
- Did you hear anything before you spotted it?
- Which parks seem best for certain critters?
- How might different animals use each park differently throughout the year?
For the patient observer, there is a lot to discover.
One sticker at a time...
What makes the Tehaleh Parktivity Passport so fun is that it is more than just a list of destinations. It is a way to experience the community with a little more curiosity. It gives you a reason to go one park farther, take one more trail, explore one more corner, and notice things you might otherwise pass by.
However you choose to do it, the reward is the same: more fresh air, more movement, more moments outside, and a better sense of all the places that make Tehaleh such a special community to explore.
So, pick your pace. Be the hare. Be the tortoise. Be somewhere in between. Just don’t be surprised if one park turns into five, or if a quick stop turns into an afternoon. And don’t forget to add us on socials to keep up–to-date on any new parks or updated Parktivity Passports coming soon.
The passport is waiting. Head over to the Tehaleh Welcome Center and get exploring today!
