Tehaleh summer events are heating up
Events are fun, plain and simple. But getting there? That can be tough. Tehaleh makes it easy to walk, bike, or ride without ever needing a car (unless that’s your thing too!) Seeing the community come alive when there’s a focused event makes it a bunch of fun for everyone.
Games? Yes. Food? Absolutely. Movies? Count us in. Give us live music, a good park, a few neighbors, maybe a bouncy house, and suddenly the neighborhood comes together like one big, enmeshed block party.
Luckily, Tehaleh has no shortage of great gathering spots. With so many parks throughout the community, there always seems to be an ideal place to set up a game, roll out a picnic blanket, or look up at the stars. Cohere’s latest efforts have been putting the spotlight on exactly that kind of good fun, bringing neighbors together for events that are perfect for friends and family of all ages, welcoming, and very Tehaleh.
So, whether you are looking for a family outing, a casual evening with friends, or just an excuse to get out of the house and enjoy the neighborhood, there is a lot coming up. Here are a few events worth circling on your calendar.

Skyline Park Pop-Up
June 27 | 11 AM–2 PM | Skyline Park
What's the best way to swing into summer? A local pop-up at nature's swingiest park! Seriously. So many swings.
The Skyline Park Pop-Up is bringing a relaxed, playful afternoon to the neighborhood on June 27. From 11 AM to 2 PM, neighbors and friends can stop by for yard games, live music, and plenty of time to hang out, chat, and enjoy the park. No swing will be left unswung.
This is the kind of event that does not need to be overcomplicated. Show up, let the kids run around, join a game, listen to some music, and enjoy the easy summer energy. Think of it as a neighborhood hangout with a little extra Tehaleh spruce and sparkle.

Summer Luau
July 11 | 5–10 PM | Discovery Park
When Hawaii seems too far away, Tehaleh has it figured out: remember that island time is also a mentality.
On July 11, Discovery Park will turn into a joyous celebration of Hawaiian tradition with the Summer Luau. From 5 till 10 PM, the evening will be filled with food, music, performances, and plenty of family fun.
Luaus are a beautiful way to celebrate family and friends, while honoring deep tradition. The event brings people together through food, music, storytelling, and shared experience. Here in Tehaleh, the setting makes it even more meaningful. With the scenery we all get to call home, Discovery Park is a fitting place to gather, celebrate, and appreciate the beauty around us.
Bring the family, bring your appetite, and bring your best island attitude. The only things you do not need to bring are a plane ticket nor a new sleep schedule. Now you can spend all those savings filling out your Hawaiian shirt collection. This is not financial advice.
Tehaleh Night Market
July 17 | 3:30–7:30 PM | Discovery Park
Always miss the Farmers Market?
No worries. The Tehaleh Night Market has you covered.
On July 17, Discovery Park will host an evening market from 3:30 to 7:30 PM, giving everyone a chance to browse, shop, snack, and enjoy the community without needing to set a Saturday morning alarm. For anyone who loves the idea of a market but struggles with the “early bird gets the produce” lifestyle, this one is especially appealing.
The Night Market is a great chance to support local vendors, discover something new, and run into neighbors while the day cools down. It's casual, easy, and perfectly timed for a relaxed summer evening.
Grab a treat, check out the booths, stroll around the park, and make a whole day of it. Then head home, take a dusky nap, and you'll be ready for the night's entertainment.

Movie in the Park
July 17 | 9:30–11 PM | Discovery Park
After the Night Market winds down, you'll absolutely want to stick around for Movie in the Park.
The big question, of course, is: what movie will it be?
Federico Fellini’s 8 1/2? A moody, black-and-white meditation on creativity, memory, and artistic crisis?
Since this is a family fun event, absolutely not.
Think more along the lines of Moana. Or Shrek. Something fun, familiar, and easy to enjoy under the night sky with a blanket, snacks, and a bunch of neighbors doing the same thing.
Movie in the Park runs from 9:30 to 11 PM at Discovery Park, making it a great follow-up to the Night Market. Come early for the market, stay late for the movie, and enjoy one of those summer nights that feels simple in the best way.
A few pro tips: bring a blanket or low chair, pack an extra layer, and maybe have a snack strategy. Movie snacks are serious business, if you're in the know, that is.

Star Party
July 18 | 8:30–11:30 PM | Big Sky Park
We call it Big Sky Park for a reason.
On July 18, the Seattle Astronomical Society will be dropping in for a Star Party from 8:30 to 11:30 PM, helping everyone stargaze in style. They bring the knowledge, the equipment, and the cosmic enthusiasm. You bring your curiosity.
This is a great event for anyone who has ever looked up and thought, “I should probably know a bit more about all that.” With telescopes and binoculars provided, guests will have the chance to explore the night sky with guidance from people who actually know the difference between a planet, a star, and that one blinking thing that is probably just an alien spaceship.
If you have ever wondered what the red light on your headlamp is for, this is the moment. Red light helps preserve night vision, which is handy when you are trying to look at the stars instead of accidentally blinding everyone around you.
Since our summer days are long, you might want to bring a coffee along. Also, do not forget that nighttime can get cold quickly. Layers are your friend. Bugs are less friendly, so bring protection for those too.
The Seattle Astronomical Society will provide telescopes and binoculars, but DIY astronomers are welcome to bring their own gear. Since this is an outdoor event, keep an eye out for Seattle Astronomical Society updates on the day of the event.

Community Yard Sale Weekend
August 14–16 | Tehaleh-wide
Back for more: the Tehaleh Community Yard Sale Weekend returns!
This is the weekend when your neighbors become shopkeepers, driveways turn into storefronts, and everyone gets a chance to hunt for hidden treasure. Maybe you’re looking for kids’ toys, books, furniture, tools, décor, or that one random item you did not know you needed until you saw it sitting on a folding table.
There is even a map showing which homes are participating, making it easier to plan your route and maximize your bargain-hunting efficiency. This is not amateur hour. This is strategy.
And maybe your home is sitting on an untapped ceramics market. Maybe your garage contains the exact lamp someone else has been dreaming about. Maybe it’s finally time to part with the board games, baby gear, or mystery box of "Garage/House/Yard stuff? Etc...” that has followed you through three moves.
Whether you’re selling, shopping, or just wandering with coffee in hand, Yard Sale Weekend is one of those classic community events that feels both practical and fun.
